Making Decisions Using Earned Value Management Concepts Making Decisions Using Earned Value training course will help you assume control of your projects. Learn to not only capture data on your project status, but more importantly to interpret the meaning behind those numbers. Discover keys to identify potential cost and schedule overruns. Grasp the tools and techniques required to compare actual work accomplished against baseline schedules and cost. Identify early warning indicators to gain greater insight into potential risk areas and prepare more accurate completion time and cost forecasts. Recognize what must be done to successfully implement the use of earned value in your organization. Open-enrollment, on-site training.

Fundamentals of Earned Value Management (DAU - BCF 102 Equivalent) This course builds on the Earned Value Management (EVM) concepts
introduced in ACQ 101. Students learn in a virtual classroom
environment. The course summarizes the language, data reports, metrics,
graphs, and management processes associated with EVM as they apply to
DoD acquisition management. The course emphasizes the processes related
to the Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB), the Integrated Baseline
Review (IBR), and the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) for
EVM Systems. Finally students evaluate and compute basic EVM metrics and
EVM metric-based Estimates at Completion (EACs). The training is provided at the customer site.

Program Management Tools Workshop (DAU PMT 250 Equivalent) This four day course is designed to provide DAU accreditation for BCF 102 and PMT 250 in a classroom setting taught by experienced, certified instructors who practice what they teach. The first day of the course is devoted to the fundamentals of Earned Value Management (EVM) and sets the foundation for the rest of the course. The focus of the first day is on understanding EVM concepts, techniques, metrics, reporting, management processes, and how EVM can enhance the ability to manage a program. Topics include developing a credible and useful Performance Measurement Baseline (PMB) for an Integrated Baseline Review (IBR), the vital role of the Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) to plan and organize work, performance measurement techniques, and performance analysis techniques used to gain insight into what is going on with a program. Days two through four are devoted to learning and applying program management best practices using a real-life Integrated Product Team (IPT) program scenario where exercises are conducted in a team environment. The focus of the last three days is on how to effectively apply EVM, scheduling, risk management, cost estimating, and change control techniques to manage a program using various software tools that can facilitate the process. Course Objectives: The training is provided at the customer site.

Integrated Project Management Using Earned Value Management This course looks at earned value management (EVM) from the ground up. It will cover government policy that mandates the use of EVM, understanding what EVM really is and what it is not. It looks at EVM systems that provide the basis for EVM implementation that are compliant with the ANSI 748 (latest version). There is a thorough discussion of baseline development and its importance for EVM data validity. A thorough look at the EVM data allows the student to understand what information it is providing. The class also covers maintaining the baseline to insure program performance validity. The class includes lecture, discussions of “real world” challenges of implementing EVM systems and “hands on” exercises to better understand how the data is developed as well as what it provides to the user. Students are encouraged to bring their current performance management questions/challenges to the class for discussion. The training is provided at the customer site.
