PSC Statement on Human Trafficking Executive Order
Arlington, Va., September 25, 2012—The Professional Services Council issued the following statement today about the White House Executive Order “Strengthening Protections Against Trafficking In Persons In Federal Contracts.”
PSC President and CEO Stan Soloway said:
The more than 350 member companies of the Professional Services Council stand with the administration in its efforts to ensure that American tax dollars are used as intended and do not flow to individuals or organizations that participate in the tragic practice of human trafficking. Fortunately, such cases are exceedingly rare. But reasonable and focused vigilance is nonetheless the responsible approach to ensure the eradication of any cases. As such, we support the President’s objectives and goals and stand ready to work with the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council in the development of executable regulations that enable the enforcement of this Executive Order. PSC will continue to work with the Congress to achieve the same objectives and goals.
