What is the Professional Services Council?
PSC is a non-profit trade association representing for-profit
technology and professional services firms that do business
with the federal government.
What is PSC's mission?
PSC’s mission is to protect, expand, and improve the
government marketplace for professional and technical
services. PSC achieves its mission through a combination of
advocacy, partnership, information sharing, networking and
much more.
What are PSC’s priority issues?
PSC has long been recognized as the service industry's most
credible authority on the full range of issues including:
outsourcing, privatization, cash flow/contract finance, and
acquisition/procurement issues. Additionally, the council
vigorously defends congressional appropriations levels for the
industry. PSC also places a high priority on troubleshooting,
where appropriate, for individual members of groups of
members; and on providing direct strategic input to government
agencies.
How many companies belong to the council?
PSC has more than 300 member companies serving virtually every
agency of the government.
Is the entire company considered a member?
Yes. Although each member company designates a senior-level
executive (typically the chief executive officer or president)
to serve as a principal contact, ALL of the company's
employees are considered members and are more than welcome to
participate in any or all of PSC’s activities.
How can my colleagues and I get involved?
PSC’s agenda and activities are truly member-driven, the
association offers a variety of opportunities for member
company involvement:
Government Affairs Committee (GAC) – The GAC
meets the first Friday of the month. Each meeting includes
dialogue
with a special government guest and an extensive
exchange of information sharing on critical topics of interest
to PSC's
members.
Task Forces, Committees, and Working Groups -
Join a task force, committee or working group examining issues
of
particular importance to your company. Most meet once a
month; some meet on an as-needed basis.
Events - PSC hosts regular Dialogue Luncheons and
other special events featuring speakers or presenters from the
Executive Branch and the Congress, who share insights and
information relevant to our industry; Additionally, numerous
other special programs, including the Senior Executive Series
(special sessions for CEOs, CFOs and General Counsels
respectively), offer additional opportunities for information
gathering and networking.
PSC Annual Conference - Held in early October,
this
two and a half day conference is packed with substantive programs
focusing on the critical challenges facing our
industry, coupled with an abundance of networking
opportunities.
What are the costs of membership?
Thanks to active members who play a significant role in
shaping the agenda and vetting issues, PSC is able to maintain
a lean staff and a modest dues structure. The dues formula
follows:

for-profit companies whose principal business is furnishing
