Workforce & Labor Issues
Both federal employees and contractors are vital components of service delivery to citizens and increasingly the federal government is dictating to contractors who they must hire and how they should manage their workforce. PSC keeps member companies abreast of these trends and initiatives being considered by OMB, the Labor Department and others and offers training on key components such as the Service Contract Act. Additionally PSC advocates for a strong acquisition workforce and support the initiatives to better hire, train and retain government skills across the board.
2014 Labor Executive Orders
In 2014, no fewer than five executive orders and presidential memoranda—and subsequent implementing regulations—have been proposed or adopted, imposing new requirements on how companies hire, compensate, and manage their workforces. See below for information on the executive orders and related regulations, and PSC’s actions in response.
