The Cybersecurity Policy Working Group will meet at PSC offices on Friday, September 20. We've blocked 1.5 hours for this discussion but would wrap up early if we accomplish our objectives in a shorter amount of time. At this meeting, PSC will provide an update on cybersecurity policy discussions with DoD and discuss recent developments, including:
On September 5, DoD released its first public draft of its Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) and requested stakeholder feedback no later than by 5:00pm on September 25. PSC requests that members review the model and please send comments to policy@pscouncil.org no later than close of business on September 19. This will allow us time to adequately review and incorporate your inputs into PSC’s submission. You can find the DoD statement and Draft CMMC v0.4 here. In its release, DoD stated: “The CMMC effort has had a great deal of support from our industry associations such as the National Defense Industrial Association (NDIA), the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA), and the Professional Services Council (PSC) in getting the CMMC information out to the Department of Defense supply chain. We appreciate all of these efforts to secure our collective national defense.” DoD anticipates releasing the next iteration of the Draft CMMC Model v0.6 in November 2019 for public review and to finalize v1.0 by January 2020. Members are also encouraged to bring forward any related issues they are seeing in their companies with respect to DoD’s implementation of cybersecurity policy.
