GSA Market Research and Supplier Marketing Discussion with PSC SCWG 11/15
Join GSA and PSC’s Smart Contracting Working Group (SCWG) on Nov. 15 to learn about the Discovery Market Research tool for GSA services contracts, and its FY19 Supplier Marketing Initiative for GSA professional services solutions contractors. If you are a current or potential GSA contract holder, or would like to learn more and provide feedback about how GSA is reaching out to industry, register now. The option to participate via webinar is available.

The SCWG will host Zachary Lerner, Supplier Relationship Management Specialist, from GSA’s Government-wide Professional Services Category, accompanied by Jill Akridge, Product Owner for the GSA Discovery tool, for an update on their market research and industry outreach efforts. Their work builds on previous input provided by PSC and others on GSA’s Industry Exchange Forum (IEF) initiative to better collect and leverage industry capability statements, improve GSA’s use of RFIs, and better understand the costs and benefits of doing so. Contact policy@pscouncil.org with questions.

About the SCWG
The Smart Contracting Working Group within PSC’s Acquisition and Business Policy Council (ABPC) was formed to look for opportunities to improve the federal procurement system that would benefit both government and industry. Commonsense policies and consistently applied procedures for how and when the government acquires services can greatly enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the federal acquisition system. In many areas, improvements to government business and buying policy—whether through statute, regulations, or agency guidance—will lead to positive outcomes that far exceed the magnitude of the changes themselves.

About ABPC
The Acquisition and Business Policy Council is the principal body for developing PSC’s positions and taking action on cross-cutting, major acquisition policy issues. Its focus encompasses wide-ranging issues such as multiple award and schedules contracts, the role of contractors, federal acquisition workforce development, commerciality, contract type and competitiveness, requirements development and evaluation strategies, alternative acquisition models, internal and external communication, and industrial base health and competition. The Acquisition and Business Policy Council fosters formal and informal partnerships with policymakers and allied stakeholders, and works toward an outcome-oriented federal services acquisition process through regular meetings, timely programs, and various other avenues.
