PSC Statement on Department of Defense Efforts to Accelerate Cloud Adoption

March 9, 2018

Arlington, V.A .(March 9, 2018) - In response to a Department of Defense (DoD) draft solicitation for the Joint Enterprise Defense Infrastructure (JEDI) Cloud, the Professional Services Council (PSC) issued the following statement:

PSC supports DoD’s commitment to full and open competition for the JEDI Cloud solicitation. Ultimately, the real measure of success is meeting warfighters’ current and future needs. The final contract must not only enable DoD to leverage today’s cutting-edge technology, but also rapidly incorporate future innovation.

Cloud computing provides a powerful platform to deliver new tools to the warfighter and improve national defense. However, regulatory and policy barriers to integrating cloud-based technologies into the military must still be removed in order to achieve Secretary Mattis’ goal of moving at the ‘speed of relevance’ to the warfighter.
