PSC Applauds House Passage of NDAA; Urges Swift Senate and Presidential Action

Arlington, Va. (Dec. 11, 2019) – The Professional Services Council applauds House passage of the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA/S. 1790) and urges the Senate to pass, and the President to sign, the conference bill as expeditiously as possible.

“PSC is pleased that Congress is moving forward on an NDAA whose provisions will promote a more effective, streamlined, and competitive federal contracting system and lead to improved mission outcomes for the Department of Defense and other federal agencies,” said David Berteau, President and CEO of the Professional Services Council.  “PSC urges Congress to take the next step and enact a bipartisan appropriations agreement for all agencies, including the Defense Department.”

The NDAA, which was released Monday, is expected to be considered by the Senate shortly.

In addition, PSC welcomes the inclusion of the Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) within the NDAA and the commitment of Senate Intel Chairman Richard Burr and Vice Chairman Mark Warner as well as the House Intel Chairman Adam Schiff and Ranking Member Devin Nunes to include this important legislation.

“PSC strongly supports the provisions in the NDAA and IAA that will reform the government’s security clearance processes. These necessary and long overdue reforms, championed by Sen. Warner, will help address critical deficiencies and make the security clearance process better, faster, more transparent and more secure,” Berteau continued.
