| PSC Foundation, Procurement Round Table Launch Jacques S. Gansler Fellowships to Honor Veteran Defense Acquisition Leader |

Arlington, Va. (Dec. 4, 2019)— The Professional Services Council Foundation (PSCF), in concert with the Procurement Round Table (PRT), today announced the establishment of the Jacques S. Gansler Fellowships, an initiative created to honor the career and legacy of Dr. Jacques “Jack” Gansler, who passed away in December 2018. Dr. Gansler was widely renowned for his leadership in the Department of Defense, industry, and academia. The fund will support selected students who are conducting research in some combination of the areas about which Dr. Gansler was so passionate: national security, the public-private nexus, acquisition and technology.
“The PSC Foundation is honored to join with the PRT in launching this special research fund focused on the interests Jack dedicated his career to,” said PSCF President and CEO David Berteau. “This new initiative also aligns with the PSC Foundation’s mission to support ongoing research priorities, and we welcome eager minds to apply for the fellowship to keep Jack’s legacy going.”
Dr. Gansler was a leading thinker and practitioner on the full range of challenges associated with defense acquisition and procurement issues. In addition to his many years as a top industry official, Dr. Gansler twice served in senior defense department posts. He spent 18 years in senior roles at the University of Maryland, including interim dean of the School of Public Policy and Vice President of Research. He also authored more than a dozen books.
Gansler Fellowships will be awarded each year to deserving graduate or law students, starting in early 2020. The program is being overseen by an advisory board in coordination with the PSC Foundation. The 2020 application opens December 15, 2019 with an application deadline of February 15, 2020. The first Fellowship awards will be announced in March 2020.
