PSC Applauds LaPlante Confirmation as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment

Arlington, Va. (Apr. 8, 2022) The Professional Services Council (PSC) applauded the Senate’s vote on April 7, 2022, to confirm William A. LaPlante, Jr. as Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition and Sustainment. 

“The Under Secretary plays many critical roles in the Department of Defense (DoD) and for the nation as a whole. Dr. LaPlante brings the experience, the capability, the knowledge, and the demeanor to succeed in this position. From overseeing the DoD’s industrial base and acquisition policies and practices to implementing better support and sustainment for U.S. and allied forces around the world, he will be at the center of it all,” said PSC CEO and President David J. Berteau. “LaPlante is uniquely qualified to lead the Pentagon’s work with industry to make contracting more effective, timely, and efficient.”

“The threat landscape changes day to day, which means the government and private sector contractors must work ever more closely together to meet mission needs and deliver results,” Berteau stated. “PSC and our sister associations look forward to a robust dialogue and a strong partnership with Under Secretary LaPlante.”
