Nominations Open for Industry Participants at DHS Reverse Industry Day VIII

June 8, 2020

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has asked the Professional Services Council for assistance in planning their two-day Reverse Industry Day event which will take place July 15 and July 16, 2020. The event will be delivered virtually via Adobe Connect in two separate sessions with three industry panel sessions total, both scheduled for 11:30 – 1:30 PM ET. Please read this entire message for information on how you can become involved.

In a Reverse Industry Day, the audience is the government workforce (1102s, IT, & program managers) and industry representatives are the presenters. The key objective of the Reverse Industry Day is for government employees to better understand the parallel action industry is taking during the government’s acquisition lifecycle and why decisions or information made available or not made available impact performance.

This is NOT an opportunity to complain about a past procurement or to market your company to government attendees. This is NOT an event that is widely open to industry.

To Participate in the Reverse Industry Day – Action Requested

If you or your company would like to participate, please review the draft agenda.

Session I – The Work to Get Work
Activities undertaken to obtain and win contracts

Session II – The Art of Contracting
Best practices for effective customer relationship management

Session III – Don’t Be Afraid of the Protest
Alternatives to protest, recommendations for decreasing probability of protest

Next, determine which session best aligns with your expertise. Then, nominate individuals (either you or others from your company) using
the form at this link. Make sure that you provide the name of the session the nominee is best suited to address and include a description as to why that individual is a good participant on that topic. DHS is looking only for panelists/participants – not moderators.

Please submit nominations using
the link or send them to Sebastian Herrick, Senior Associate for Public Policy, no later than close of business on Tuesday, June 9, 2020.

We anticipate a large response from interested PSC member companies and we can not guarantee that your nominees will be selected. DHS is not accepting nominations directly. If you have participated in a DHS Reverse Industry Day in the past, you are not likely to be selected again.

Roles and Time Expectations:
Panelists are expected to support the development of any group PowerPoint (if relevant), prepare remarks and scenarios, present industry views, best practices, and lessons learned about the specific panel topic.

All speakers will be expected to participate in planning sessions and will likely be asked to participate in a dry run with DHS in advance of the event to go through content presented.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

Sincerely,

Bradley Saull
