What Contractors Need To Know About DoD's CMMC
Date: Wednesday, July 17, 2019
Time: 1:00 - 2:30 p.m.
Location: ** Webinar**
Special guest speaker:
, Special Assistant to the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Acquisition for Cyber, Office of the Under Secretary of Acquisition and Sustainment
DoD is initiating a new standard addressing cybersecurity vulnerabilities in the defense industrial base and security in the supply chain. This standard, named the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), will incorporate relevant control frameworks, infosec solutions, and mission systems development frameworks. DoD is releasing a draft of the CMMC later in July with industry listening sessions planned in the weeks that follow. The first iteration is planned to be released by January 2020.
The CMMC could have a profound impact on how companies both compete in the marketplace and work together in delivering on contracts. However, there are also numerous questions how the CMMC will be handled administratively. Who will certify? How will entities get approved to certify? How “portable” is a certification?
Join PSC on July 17 for a webinar to explore these questions and more, including what companies should be paying attention to as DoD develops and implements CMMC, and how best to prepare.
What is cybersecurity maturity and the expected levels of certification?
What is the expected process for conducting CMMC assessments?
What is the approximate timeline DoD has set for developing and implementing the CMMC?
What entities will conduct certification? How will the process be managed?
When should contractors expect CMMC incorporated into RFIs and solicitations?
How can companies engage in DoD CMMC Industry listening sessions?
What developments to expect in regulation changes across government and in legislation?
