On August 20, the Small Business Administration proposed a sweeping overhaul of its small business size standards and the methodology used to calculate them. The proposal would consolidate nearly 1,000 industry-specific standards into 338 broader categories, eliminate existing subindustry exceptions and explicit maximum thresholds, and significantly increase size standards across the federal professional services and IT market, with numerous proposed thresholds exceeding ten times their current levels. During this member briefing, PSC will provide an overview of the proposal, examine its potential implications for contractors across the federal marketplace and federal procurement more broadly, and solicit member feedback to inform PSC's response.
