PSC Members Share Industry Perspectives at NIH Small Business and HBCU Collaboration Conference

On June 30, 2026, PSC members spoke on a panel at the two-day “NIH Strengthening Small Business and HBCU Collaborations to Advance Research” Conference, held at the National Institutes of Health. This reverse industry presentation focused on how NIH communication and engagement at different parts of the procurement process influence industry decisions around investing, teaming, solution development, pricing, and bidding. Members shared their perspectives on some of the common challenges of doing business with NIH as well as recommendations for how to address these issues. Topics included forecasts, barriers to entry, teaming, pre-RFP engagement (e.g., RFIs, industry days, draft-RFPs, and Q&A), and requirements and evaluation criteria. Thank you to our participants for the time and effort put into this session– Kathy Lentz, Federal Insights; Ruth Ann Speir, JBS International; Stephanie Wilson, NetImpact Strategies; and Suzanne Randolph-Cunningham, MayaTech Corporation.
