This event covered Contractor Performance Assessment Reporting System (CPARS) trends, their impact on contractor past performance ratings, and the consequence they have on winning federal contracts.

You will hear from senior government acquisition officials, industry leaders, and advisors, who shared their experiences and perspectives on the current state of CPARS and what needs to be done to optimize effective and accurate past performance ratings.

This event provided a unique opportunity to learn CPARS trends and their implications on your future performance ratings.  The discussion included best practices, insights and recommendations on what you need to do to proactively engage and manage your CPARS ratings so that you receive the highest accurate past performance ratings earned and deserved.

The Federal Government is requiring its acquisition officials to provide more detailed justifications for all CPARS ratings higher than “Satisfactory.” The result is fewer “Exceptional” and “Very Good” ratings over the past few years, with a marked increase in “Satisfactory” ratings. In many new contract competitions, the difference between “Satisfactory” and “Very Good”, or “Very Good” and “Exceptional” CPARS ratings, is the difference between winning or losing.  Regrettably, current CPARS rating trends are telling us that “Satisfactory” is the new “Unsatisfactory”.
