DESCRIPTION
Join us Wednesday, January 21 at 10am when PSC will hold a virtual meeting to launch our brand-new, Business and Industry Development (BID) Working Group. The BID is intended to provide PSC members with critical insights and information related to business resilience and growth in order to help PSC members thrive in a challenging GovCon marketspace.
Please register here to take part in our kick-off conversation and provide your input on the BID’s content and direction. From highlighting key considerations for business strategies in the evolving “govcon” space… to sharing methods for leveraging effective competition… to unpacking recent development in the requirements, acquisition, and other processes within the government, this BID working group will help PSC members:
- Identify policies, regulations, and trends that diminish the industrial base (e.g., disincentivize contractors from staying in the federal market, discourage new entrants) and seek actionable ideas about how to counteract them
- Determine practical impacts on contractor workforce, business development, and scope of works based on: FAR rewrites; use of Artificial Intelligence; flow downs to vendor relationships based on certifications requirements (e.g., Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification); government recruitment of contractor employees
- Establish data standards to measure the health of growth in the federal market
- Access “Best-in-Class” or “required use” competition, as appropriate, and promote standards for fair, frequent on-ramping for long-term contracts
- Offer avenues for sharing business intelligence and growth ideas, including but not limited to effective joint ventures and other partnership arrangements
- Improve policies and procedures that ensure predictable and reliable cash flow
- Highlight tools for resilience (i.e., ability to react well to market fluctuations)
- Advocate for a robust, resilient, and varied industrial base
- Break barriers to business grow

The BID Working Group will be part of PSC’s Acquisition and Business Policy Council. Meetings will occur monthly and may be “hybrid” or virtual, depending on speaker availability. While agendas will be coordinated by PSC staff, discussions will be led by panels of Regular and / or Associate members, discussing their insights, successes, and challenges related to above items.
