Federal Contracting Companies Showcase Commitment to UN Sustainable Development Goals
Arlington, Va. (September 19, 2024) -- 2024 commemorates nine years since the 190 member states of the United Nations, including the United States, unanimously adopted the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. This ambitious agenda created seventeen unique Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)—ranging from No Hunger and Zero Poverty to Economic Growth and Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure.
In the U.S., the Department of State, the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR), the Millenium Challenge Corporation (MCC), and the Development Finance Corporation (DFC) lead the charge in meeting the SDGs. Implementing many of those efforts are American federal contracting companies— members of PSC’s Council of International Development Companies (CIDC).
In advance of September 23, 2024, the formal start of the UN General Assembly, PSC released a compendium that highlights the significant contributions and unwavering commitment of more than a dozen key CIDC members and their committed employees as they work to help the United States, and the United Nations, meet the SDG goals.
“The dedication of CIDC members exemplifies the spirit of collaboration and innovation needed to tackle the world’s most pressing challenges,” said PSC President and CEO David J. Berteau. “Our members are contributing directly to mission success across the national and international development spectrum.”
Federal contracting companies spotlighted in the compendium include: Abt, Amentum, Cadmus, Chemonics, Creative, DAI, Deloitte, Dexis, DT Global, ECODIT, IDG, Palladium, Panagora Group, and Tetra Tech.
