DoD Publishes Defense Contract Finance Study

On April 10, 2023, the Department of Defense (DoD) released findings from its newly published Defense Contract Finance Study. The first of its kind since 1985, this long-anticipated study was initiated in response to a 2019 GAO report and “examined financial health, financing regulations, insight into the commercial marketplace, and impacts to subcontractors, including small businesses, over a 20-year timeframe.”  Of note, in July 2022, PSC responded to a DoD RFI seeking industry inputs on their analysis methodology.  PSC recommended DoD officials broaden the scope of the study and establish an ongoing dialogue with industry partners.
