Dedicated Veteran Hiring  

AMERICAN SYSTEMS is committed to focused recruiting and hiring of transitioning servicemembers and veterans, given the great impact they’ve had on our company, culture, and the National Priority Programs we support. Each year, approximately 50% of our new hires are veterans. We achieve this accomplishment by being engaged in the military community nationwide to help transitioning service members and veterans find their next career with us. We participate in career fairs, networking events, and employer panels with Transition Assistance Programs, HIRE Vets Now, Virginia Values Veterans, and other local organizations. Additionally, our recruiters are trained on best practices to recruit and hire veterans. 

Our Veteran Employee Resource Group  

Our Servicemember Outreach And Referral (SOAR) program is a platform for our employee-veterans to strengthen the camaraderie, recruitment, onboarding, and morale of fellow veterans through engagement inside and outside our Company. SOAR leads our corporate efforts to recruit veterans and encourage their continuing service to our nation as employee-owners. The SOAR program is an opportunity to network with employee-veterans, assist transitioning servicemembers, veterans, and military spouses, spread the word about AMERICAN SYSTEMS, and take part in company events celebrating military heritage. 

Supporting Transitioning Service Members  

In 2022, SOAR launched an initiative—VetConnect—focused solely on guiding transitioning servicemembers throughout their career search. Our employee-veterans provide a unique perspective and professional guidance as peers who have “been in their boots” and successfully navigated this challenging time. In its first year, 90% of VetConnect candidates received an offer, 95% of them accepted their offer, and 97% started with AMERICAN SYSTEMS.
