General Paul Selva Honored by PSC as 2019 Public Sector Partner of the Year

Arlington, Va. (Nov. 13, 2019) - General Paul Selva was recognized Wednesday by the Professional Services Council (PSC) and the Northern Virginia Chamber of Commerce as the Greater Washington Government Contractor Awards™ 2019 Public Sector Partner of the Year.

PSC President and CEO David J. Berteau and Northern Virginia Chamber President and CEO Julie Coons presented Gen. Selva with the award at PSC’s offices in Arlington on Nov. 13.

“It takes thousands of special people to make the government side of contracting work, from the front end of requirements, through the many steps in the procurement process, to the later stages of managing contracts to get superior results,” Berteau said. “We honor one man with whom I worked closely for more than a decade on all of those aspects: requirements, procurement, and results. At the Air Force’s Air Mobility Command, as commander of the U.S. Transportation Command, and as the finest Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff who has ever filled that position, General Paul Selva focused on getting it right.”

Selva was officially announced last week at the 17th Annual GovCon Awards—hosted by PSC and the Northern Virginia Chamber—as the first-ever military officer awardee named Public Sector Partner of the Year.

“I am more than honored by this and humbled to be recognized in this particular way,” Selva said. “I’ve touched every corner of contracting and encouraged all of my colleagues to be diligent and pay attention to what they’re buying with contract dollars. We just can’t do it by ourselves.”
