Speaker Biography

 John Neumann is a Director at the U.S. Government Accountability Office (GAO) leading performance audits of federal programs. He currently leads audits in the science and technology area, which focuses on ensuring that the substantial federal investment in research and development is managed effectively, and that federal agencies implement an array of programs, policies, and activities to protect intellectual property rights, enhance U.S. competitiveness, and stimulate the adoption of innovative technologies and practices. Prior to that, John managed reviews of governmentwide contracting issues and the U.S. defense industrial base. Mr. Neumann received his B.A. in Political Science cum laude from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, and holds an M.B.A from American University, as well as a J.D. from Georgetown University.
